Computer Reprogramming or Reflashing

Computer reprogramming or “reflashing” as it is often called is a fairly new feature in auto repair but is becoming increasingly common as a way to fix your car. Phil’s Auto Clinic is equipped with the latest computer equipment for computer reprogramming your vehicle’s on board computer or computers (many cars have more than five on board computers.)

We do not make random changes to the computer program just to call it a auto repair. Rather, we purchase from the vehicle manufacture specific computer files that update the existing program to one that is designed to fix faults that have appeared after the vehicle has been sold. Let’s say, for example, your car will no longer run on regular fuel without pinging. You have taken it to a auto repair shop and they have tried various solutions without improving the condition. It is possible that the manufacturer has released updated software to correct the condition in the computer. Phil’s has the ability to put that software into your car’s computer, usually at a very reasonable price and always by a certified mechanic.

Phil’s can check your vehicle’s on board computer system to see if updates for its software are available.
